Labour Party Crisis: Confusion in the camp of Nenadi Usman's Caretaker Committee as INEC rejects the dissolution of State Exco loyal to Abure

Image
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has told the Senator Nenadi Usman led Caretaker Committee of the Labour Party that it lacks the powers to dissolve the existing Ward, Local Government and State executives of the party and to replace them with interim executives.  A news leak from Nenadi Usman's office in Abuja and made available to newsmen has it that the Caretaker Committee has been rattled by the development since receiving this response last two weeks, to an earlier request made to the Commission.  The Caretaker Committee is at a loss on how to cross this bridge knowing that the majority of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) including the state chairmen and their secretaries are still loyal to the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure. According to the leaked memo written on the 16th February 2026, by the INEC's Secretary,  Dr. Rose Oriaran-Anthony with reference number INEC/DEPM/LP/283/IV/36 and addressed to the C...

LABOUR PARTY: OUR YOUTHFULNESS OUR NEW PATH TO GOOD GOVERNANCE IS A THREAT TO THE STATE CAPTURE GANG, OUR FIGHT WILL NOT BE IN VAIN

Image
Barr Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party in Nigeria, has articulated several important thoughts on good governance and the pressing need for change.   He reportedly  said, “It has always been my dream to lead the people of Nigeria to have good governance and to have a better life. Now that God has put the leadership in my hands and I am leading the struggle to liberate Nigerians, there is no reason why I should run away from that onerous responsibility and patriotic call to save Nigeria. I believe Nigeria can be better... we need to change the narrative of the country.” In a political landscape increasingly dominated by the insidious allure of state capture, where corruption and bad governance threaten the very fabric of our society, the Labour Party stands resolute as a beacon of hope and change. We are unapologetically committed to social democratic values, placing people at the heart of every decision. Our vision is bold and unwavering: to empower c...

BYE TO 2025

With you, 2025 has been memorable. Yes, you were a source of inspiration through all your actions and inactions. Yes, I am more exposed to life evolutions and revelations. As the year 2025 winds up today, my heart is filled with gratitude.  I sincerely appreciate my friends, family, and all my well wishers who stood by me through thicks and thins. Your prayers, support, knocks, denials, advice, and encouragement made the journey meaningful and interesting. To those who doubted me, challenged me, or even misunderstood my positions at different circumstances, I thank you for bringing out the best in me.  You taught me resilience, self reflection, and the importance of staying true to myself.  Every experience, good or bad, played a role in shaping who I am throughout 2025. I also want to seek your forgiveness in whichever way my actions or inactions may have offended you.

Labour Party Finally Liberated By Peter Obi’s Defection

Image
STATEMENT FROM THE LABOUR PARTY LABOUR PARTY FINALLY LIBERATED BY PETER OBI'S DEFECTION  ... As Party asks forgiveness from Nigerians for fielding unfitting presidential candidate in 2023 The leadership of the Labour Party took note of the defection of its 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi and a few of his supporters to the African Democratic Congress, ADC. We also took note of the lacklustre speech Mr. Obi made at the occasion, and wondered what new he intends to sell to Nigerians.  For us in Labour Party, we wondered why it took them this long to make the move because we have since September 2024, parted ways with Peter Obi and some of his blind supporters in the National Assembly. We have patiently waited for this day. The party is finally liberated by this defection and as Party leaders, we count it as a blessing. It will be on record that the leadership of the Labour Party had since urged Obi and his disgruntled followers to exit the party if they were unable ...

Labour Party Threatens to Petition NBA Over Nenadi's aide blackmail, Attack on INEC, Judiciary

Image
STATEMENT FROM THE LABOUR PARTY The attention of the leadership of the Labour Party has been called to a press statement purportedly signed by one Ken Enuma Asogwa who claimed to be a media aide to one Ms Nenadi Usman who is claiming to be the National Chairman of the Labour Party even when she is not a member of the Party.   The so called press statement was a clear attempt to blackmail the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the acting Chairman of INEC, Mrs May Agbamuche-Mbu  for obeying a validly issued court order. The statement was also crafted to embarrass His Lordship, the judge of the High court and as well to bring the court to public opprobrium and ridicule.  Ms Nenadi Usman, through her aide, Asogwa had called for the arrest of Mrs Agbamuche-Mbu for, according to them for 'criminally colluding with Barrister Julius Abure' to rightfully carry out her job in line with the laws governing the electoral commission.  We think that thi...

BASELESS THREAT ON INEC BY UNKNOWN GROUP OF DISGRUNTLED INDIVIDUALS - LABOUR PARTY YOUTHS READY TO CONFRONT THEM.

Image
20th OCTOBER, 2025 OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER, LABOUR PARTY FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  Our attention was brought to a press conference granted by an illegal group known as Forum of Labour Party Candidates made up of people who have been manoeuvring to destabilize the Labour Party, and seem to become the new militant wing of the illegal caretaker committee. Ordinarily, they do not deserve our attention as they are bound to scatter as usual, but for the purpose of public enlightenment, we deem this press release appropriate. For clarity sake, there is no such recognised forum of former candidates in the LP Constitution. The purported forum is populated by some chalaterns/individuals who could not even afford nomination fees in the last 2023 general election; some were placeholders, and some never even participated in any election. Those jobless individuals are holding on to the 2023 candidacy as their lifelong achievement, while serious politicians are earnestly preparing ...

THE PROPOSED NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE - A SCAM AND FAILURE OF THE YOUTH MINISTER

Image
17th OCTOBER, 2025 PRESS RELEASE Recall that over a year ago, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a National Youth Conference to be able to have a first hand detailed information of what the Nigerian Youths are demanding. One year down the line, the conference is yet to happen because the machineries of the execution enabled by the Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon Ayodele Olawande whose duty it is to coordinate the all important conference have turned such vital proclamation of Mr President to a parochial political elite-centric fanfare putpotedly to settle his party loyalists, personal friends, waste our scarce national financial resources, visibly due to his unimaginable but glaring incompetence in managing such a key position in the ministry of youth affairs.  We have carefully examined with utmost interest the activities of the un-inclusive planning Committee that was inaugurated months ago, and from all indications the agenda is far different from the expecta...

Continous Threat Of Attack On Labour Party National Headquarters/Offices, An Invitation To Anarchy, An Affront On Legal Process And Threat To National Security In The Federal Capital Territory.

Image
OFFICE OF NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER, LABOUR PARTY                 28th July 2025 The attention of the Labour Party youths has been drawn to an illegal plan of invading our National Headquarters in Abuja in the guise of an illegal 1 million man march by supposedly some disgruntled elements who have always believed that violence is a tool in a democratic process on 30th July 2025. The Labour Party has disclaimed and disassociated itself from such rascality. The attention of the Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Security, and all other security forces are hereby called to put a stop to this action, which clearly is a threat to FCT security, and possibly is capable of leading to a breakdown of law and order. Given the fact that these threats have occurred severally without much resistance from the teeming youths of our party, possibly these dissidents feel its their right to promulgate violence at any time they so wish.   Let i...

Stop blackmailng Labour Party leadership, Abure warns Obi: * Crisis in LP created, sustained by Obi and Gov Otti

Image
STATEMENT FROM THE LABOUR PARTY Stop blackmailng Labour Party leadership, Abure warns Obi: * Crisis in LP created, sustained by Obi and Gov Otti The attention of the leadership of the Labour Party was called to an interview on Monday granted by the party's candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi wherein he alleged that the APC led Federal Government has infiltrated the leadership of the Labour Party and by so doing, fomenting crisis in the party. But when asked to produce the evidence, Obi could not produce any tangible evidence. He however said that the national chairman, Barrister Julius Abure referred to the Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti as a dwarf. As a member of our party, we sincerely do not wish to join issues with Mr. Obi but for his penchant to constantly misinform Nigerians on the real reasons for the crisis in the party, knowing that virtually most other parties are in one form of crisis or the other. We sincerely hope that he should intro...

FCT High Court Summons Senate President Akpabio in N100 Billion Defamation Suit by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

Image
FCT High Court Summons Senate President Akpabio in N100 Billion Defamation Suit by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, presided over by Honourable Justice Idris Kutigi, has ordered the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to appear before it on June 9, 2025, in a N100 billion defamation suit filed against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The court’s order followed a motion filed by counsel to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, Barrister Victor Giwa, seeking leave of the court to serve Senator Akpabio through substituted means after the Senate President failed to appear in court in respect of the matter on May 7, 2025. The suit, with case number FCT/HC/CV/754/2025, revolves around allegations of defamation which Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan claims have severely damaged her reputation, prompting her to seek substantial damages from the Senate President. In granting the application for substituted service, Justice K...
